GMT’s Project Manager tragically passes away.

28/11/2022

Stephen Gargan, our dear friend, colleague and GMT’s Project Manager tragically passed away on the 27th November 2022.  He lives on in so many ways in epilogues and our other projects.  His many influences are and will be fondly remembered in our work going forward.

Stephen rarely if ever appeared in front of camera in relation to his role as project manager. His was managing all the behind camera production stuff. As such his only appearance on camera for GMT was in the video record we produced of our first gathering of graduates from deliveries of epilogues: The Human Face Of Conflict (see link here).

Stephen’s body got a very special sending off to Dublin from friends and colleagues in Derry. Subsequently some of them put together this wonderful tribute to his life. It’s an hour and a half which on paper sounds too long but it passes quickly. Thank you Gareth and Rauri for the love and the hours of work put into making it. It comes across. Stephen would be so embarrassed to ever think his passing could provoke such a tribute. The cultural educator in him would love and appreciate it too. Onwards comrade. Onwards…

Jim Keys who created the epilogues Workshop Education Programme with Stephen has stepped in to manage the project and bring it to completion.
